Awkwafina, an American performer and actress, started with a series of rap songs dealing with issues related to race and sexuality. The career of the singer and actress grew to Hollywood following the release of an album of raps. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents who hail from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was her first instrument. Alongside classical music and jazz, the young Nora started to study hip-hop during her teens.
