Robyn Rihanna Fenty also referred to as Rihanna by Barbadians is a songwriter and singer. Her hits comprise Pon de Replay, SOS Umbrella and Take a Bow. As a young, popular singer-songwriter, she's one of the most successful selling performers. Barbados-born, she learned to appreciate reggae music and began singing in the midst of her childhood. Disturbed by her chaotic family life and endless arguments with her parents she immersed herself in music, and before long realized that she wanted to be a professional musician. In her teens she joined a rock group. Evan Rodgers auditioned her and was awestruck. He requested that she move in New York and pursue a performing career that was full-time. Rihanna was thrilled to accept. Rihanna rapidly became a household name when she released her debut album. Young people were captivated by her songs with a catchy sound that had them tapping their feet. This led Rihanna into the movie industry. Pretty young and highly talented Rihanna is now regarded as a teen idol and a fashion icon. Rihanna is also involved in helping charities and uses her fame.
